ABOUT PPWC

Professional Photographers of the Wine Country (PPWC) is a non-profit organization serving aspiring and professional photographers by providing professional education, support and guidance. We offer monthly meetings lead by industry professionals often in affiliation with Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and/or Professional Photographers of California (PPC). 

MEETING INFORMATION

We currently meet both in person and online. 

Our main monthly meeting is typically the third Tuesday at 6:30pm. We either host an online Image Competition evening where images are scored based on PPA's guidelines for a Merit Image or we welcome an educational speaker who either presents in person, online via zoom, or a hybrid evening. Some months we offer Workshops in addition to our monthly meetings. 

Most meetings are held in Sonoma County, California. 

We offer various educational opportunities in addition to our monthly meetings.

MEMBER BENEFITS

Join us in January to receive the most of your membership. In addition to education, friendship and a support base from local photographers, PPWC Members are welcome to attend workshops and meetings of our other Northern California affiliates (see Affiliate Link).

Membership Dues are $165 yearly or you can join in January for $135.

If you'd like to attend one of our meetings or workshops, non-member pricing will be listed within the blog information.

Secretary, Sheila Johnson

Wife, Mother, Photographer........... Hi, my name is Sheila Johnson, I live in beautiful Sonoma County with my husband of 20yrs, and our 5 children. Photography is my passion. Slowly but surely I am learning everything I possibly can to become a fabulous photographer. Like everything in life I believe my craft is a work in progress, and always will be. I love the challenge and excitement that comes with learning something new!

Treasurer, Diane Conger

Living in Sonoma County for the past 25+ years, I am still curious about an unpaved backroad, find the morning fog magical and will leave my house in pajamas if the light is right. Landscape and wildlife photography is my passion, but I also really enjoy my sessions with families and seniors outdoors. Telling stories and creating memories is as much a gift for me as it is for my clients. Always striving to learn and grow in the profession, I am honored to be a part of the PPWC family of photographers.

Emily wears many hats.... She is a photographer, a friend, an educator, and a lover of life. She works with her clients to create timeless images that reflect their unique personalities and their own beautiful light. She loves nature and the beauty that is all around us. She strives to create images that join her love of landscape photography with the authentic interaction that you share with your loved ones. No two sessions are the same!

Social Chair, Alicia Parks

Photography is my calling, my passion. It is a beautiful creative outlet that I am fortunate enough to call my profession. What I love most is telling YOUR story. It is such a special gift to give; photographs from your wedding that you can cherish your whole life, then passing them onto your children's children.

Board Member, Karna Roa

Karna is an award-winning destination wedding photographer based out of both the East Bay and Sebastopol, CA. Her parents gave her a camera at age 5 and she never looked back!

Board Member, Matt Spinetta

Matt is the founder of Prismic Photography and has immersed himself in photography since 2002. Matt's specialties include portrait & event photography as well as working with food & beverage. Additionally, Matt holds an FAA-licensed Part 107 commercial drone license which he routinely uses to capture photos and video from the air. Matt became a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) with the Professional Photographers of America in 2023 and has been a proud member of PPWC since 2022.
