Deep Sky Astrophotography

Our regular February meeting will be an awesome talk on the "How To" aspects of Deep Sky Astrophotography.

Linda & Jim will discuss what it takes to make awesome images of those objects far, far away.  They will run through telescope basics, the need of the additional motorized equatorial mount (what's a motorized equatorial mount?) and basic DSLR settings.  It might come as a surprise that you DON'T need NASA-grade equipment to make incredible color images of galaxies, open and globular clusters, nebula and comets! :)

This meeting is Part 1 of 2 presented by Linda and Jim.  February will be a classroom introduction (with the possibility of a little hands on if the weather cooperates.)  Part 2 will be at a different meeting/different month and will be a pure hands-on field exploration star party.  The kind with warm jackets and hot cocoa! :)

This will be a Print Comp Night - You may enter up to 2 prints!

As usual, this will be a Digital Only Print Comp.

Your entry must be in by Sunday, February 19th no later than 12pm. 
(We must have time to prepare a slide show) Late entries will not be accepted.

Your print should be AT LEAST 2400 pixels (longest side) Resolution DOES NOT MATTER.

(If you are entering in the electronic imaging category please remember to attach a copy of the original.) 
You may enter up to TWO prints. 
Only members may enter images for Print Comp.

If you enter images, you must be present to have your prints judged.
