Hello Fellow Photographers, Happy Summertime! Hope everyone is in full swing with your shutters clicking! Next Meeting:Mark your calendars for the next meeting with our guest speaker Nikki McKenna. She will giving us a outside perspective on the psychology of asking the right questions to your client so that you can have satisfying and creative sessions. (See below for a complete description.) Tuesday, June 17th @ 6:30pm Venue: Dinner at the Mary's Pizza:Dinner will at Mary's Pizza Shack in Sebastopol. There's a great little happy hour menu and it's always fun to see everyone before the meeting. Address: From Nikki McKenna:Fortune 500 companies the world over have been hiring anthropologists to research their customers not to understand the cultures of some distant markets but to understand customers in our own neighborhoods! Here are some of the transformations these methods have uncovered: What Adidas thought was the story: we do sports to compete. What Adidas found to be the REAL story: we engage in athletic activity to live a healthier lifestyle. Subsequently, Adidas started to invest heavily in the fashion of athletic gear and used lines like “all in” rather than “impossible is nothing”. What McDonalds thought was the story: we buy our kids McDonald frosty’s because our kids like sugar. What McDonalds found to be the REAL story: we buy McDonald frosty’s because they take a long time to drink and it keeps our kids entertained for most of dinner. As a result, McDonald’s research the right mix of consistency and straw diameter for it’s frosty’s in addition to the right taste. Do you know the REAL story of why your clients are hiring you? What story do they want to tell? I made a name for myself in a Fortune 500 company bringing in these methods to identify transformative innovations. And, the power of connecting to these stories is what led me to found Storytag. I believe that employing some of these methods during your interview process can help you find and take the shots that connect at a deeper emotional level with your clients. During this talk, I’d like to share the specific methods I think can help. I'm excited to have Nikki talk to us with the perspective from outside this photography industry. Come hear what this successful businesswoman has to say. See you then, |
