PPWC welcomes East Bay Photographer Barbara Brady-Smith to our June 21st Mini Workshop and Evening Meeting!
Mini Workshop – Pet Photography, Hands on Posing and Handling
2:00-4:00 pm, must RSVP and register online! $25 for Members, $50 for Guests of PPWC
Ever wonder how pet photographers manage to photograph dogs in just the right pose? Learn from Barbara Brady-Smith, M. Photog, CPP and PPWC’s own Chris Kittredge who both have years of experience creating award winning pet portraits!
Topics include:
- How to prepare for a session
- Tools to position dogs
- How to get their attention
- What poses to capture – Barbara will share her own posing guide with all participants!
- How to handle multiple dogs
- How to tell if a dog has had enough
This is a hands on workshop – so bring your camera gear, comfy (and dirt worthy) clothes, a hat, water and any noise makers you might want to try! Doggie models will be provided.

Regular Evening Meeting: Lightroom and Photoshop – Beyond the Basics, 6:30 pm. Free for members, $20 for guests.
Barbara is going to share her favorite features of Lightroom and Photoshop.
Topics include:
- The power of the ‘histogram’ and how it can direct your post processing
- Many Lightroom tips and tricks –the intricacies of Lightroom adjustment brushes and sliders, how to take advantage of noise reduction features, and how to create your own presets to speed up your workflow.
- Then into Photoshop to concentrate on the power of adjustment layers, layer masks, retouching techniques for people, and enhancing landscape photography.
- Ever thought about incorporating textures into your images? You will learn some easy techniques for doing that!
- Finally, the magic of Nik and Topaz filters will be demonstrated.
